Drug-free pain management

The TENS machine is a hand-held device that works by sending a mild electrical current across the effected area of the body via self adhesive pads. It creates a "pins and needles" or tingling sensation and provides another signal for your brain to focus on, rather than the surge sensations.

It's even possible that the TENS stimulates the production of endorphins, your natural form of pain relief.

The small, lightweight TENS is completely controlled by you, your birth partner, or even your midwife. You can adjust the intensity of each pair of pads at any time throughout labour.
